Melissa & Statler -- WHAT A BEAUTIFUL TEAM!!!
STATLER
I was very excited when Melissa contacted me and said she wanted to come to classes with her second rescued pup! Melissa had previously attented classes with her bull terrier, Waldorf. Being the amazing person she is, she went back to the rescue and adopted Statler, who was Waldorf's playmate at the shelter. Both are mixes of dogs commonly called "pitt" bulls and both are smart, amazing loving dogs! Statler was so very insecure in class. He needed socialization and to know he could rely on his new owner and leader, Melissa, to be his protector and keep him safe in this cruel world. I emphasize to all of my clients that we are our dog's protector and friend. Through training Statler and Melissa connected and bonded. Statler passed the class with flying colors but best of all HE WAS A HAPPIER DOG!!! Listen to Melissa's story below! Great job Melissa! I love working with awesome responsible dog owners like you!!!! Thank you for saving these boys and giving them the home they deserve!
Personal noteL:
Melissa is a school teacher. She said she found herself using the training hand signals to get the children to be quiet in class and it worked! I love it! It is true your dog watches you more than they listen to you so why not try it in other areas of your life? Way to go Melissa!! You are helping some great children learn to watch their teacher and leader!
Melissa & Waldorf. He is her first pup she attended classes with in Thibodaux.
Below is a comment from Melissa on 5-14-11. Classes are for THE LIFE OF YOUR DOG! Melissa needed to come back to class as Waldorf grew and I'm glad she did! If you don't get up on your dog neither will I!
Melissa stated this below on my facebook page on 5/14/11:
"Once again, I just can't thank you enough for all the extra help to you provide to those of us who have dogs with challenging behavior. Lately I've read so many posts on various forums and blogs from people who were asked to leave training classes when their dogs "act a fool". You just dig in deeper and don't shy away from those situations. I really appreciate all the research you do to help us, the extra time you put in, and the support you provide! THANK YOU, again!!!! "
